I All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in the Conditions of European Integration of Ukraine”

The 1st All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in the Conditions of European Integration of Ukraine” was held at the Scientific and Research Center for Forensic Expertise in the Field of Information Technologies and Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. The event was co-organized by the Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovations, the V.M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Research Institute of Intellectual Property of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Research Institute of Public Law, State Enterprise “Center for Forensic Examination and Expert Research” of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine, National Association of Lawyers of Ukraine. The event is timed to coincide with the International Intellectual Property Day.

The opening of the conference was attended by Doctor of Philosophy in Law, Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine for Executive Service Andriy Gaichenko, who emphasized the importance of coordinating the efforts of all relevant institutions and organizations in protecting intellectual property rights in the context of armed aggression and Ukraine’s European integration.

Deputy Director, Head of the Appellate Chamber of the Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovations Vladyslav Bilotsky drew attention to the importance of adapting Ukrainian legislation to the norms of European law.

Candidate of Law, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Judge of the Court of Cassation within the Supreme Court Ihor Benedysiuk emphasized the importance of protecting intellectual property rights in court.

Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Vice-President of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Director of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Oleksandr Skrypnyuk emphasized the importance of protecting intellectual property rights and its impact on the economy of Ukraine.

Leading researcher, Candidate of Law, Senior Researcher, Judicial Expert of the Research Institute of Intellectual Property of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine Oleksandr Doroshenko, in his welcoming address to the participants, emphasized the importance of adapting all national institutions in the field of intellectual property rights protection to today’s challenges and consolidating efforts in developing scientific developments and methodological approaches to solving forensic expert tasks.

Candidate of Law, Director of the State Enterprise “Center for Forensic Examination and Expert Research”, Head of the NGO “Union of Experts of Ukraine” Ihor Starodubov drew attention to the importance of improving national legislation and adapting it to Ukraine’s European integration processes, in particular when conducting legal proceedings in the field of intellectual property.

The Chairman of the Committee of the National Bar Association of Ukraine on Intellectual Property of the National Bar Association of Ukraine Yuriy Romanyuk, in his welcoming address to the participants, emphasized the importance of cooperation and communication between all institutions that protect intellectual property rights in Ukraine.
